NOTE ABOUT AMMUNITION : PLEASE READ
There are some differences in the ammunition types that the shooters will be allowed to use in the match that all should be aware of. In 223 Remington / 5.56X45 NATO caliber ammunition there are 2 distinct, and different "GREEN" tip bullets currently available to the shooting public. Ammunition in 5.56X45 NATO caliber manufactured to the SS109 / M855 Mil Spec is loaded with a 62 grain STEEL CORE penetrator FMJ bullet. This ammunition can be identified by GREEN PAINT applied to the tip of the bullet, or by the designation "SS109 / M855" stamped, or printed on the box. This ammunition will damage even "AR" plate steel, and therefore we CAN NOT allow it's use on the club targets that will be used in the match. The other ammunition that uses a GREEN TIP bullet is manufactured by Hornady in it's "Zombie Max" line of ammunition. It is only available in 223 Remington caliber, and uses a 55 grain "Z-MAX" bullet. This bullet is a lead core bullet with a GREEN POLYMER (plastic) tip. This ammunition is acceptable for use in the match because it's core is 100% lead, and will not cause target damage. So if you are stocking up on "Green Tip" Zombie Killer ammunition for the shoot, please be aware of the difference when you purchase your ammunition.
